The Ostindia mug by Rörstrand is a design classic in its own right. The Ostindia range is both one of the oldest and, to this day, one of Rörstrand’s most loved porcelain ranges. The design originated in 1932 and was a bit of a coincidence. A porcelain shard of a plate from South-East Asia found its way into one of Rörstrands cupboards, only to be discovered by the owner Knut Almström’s wife, who asked him to do something with it. The result was the beautiful Ostindia range with its timelss, floral design.
